Commissioned by the state government, the goal was to energize the East Asian community in Lawrence, Kansas through a community mural project at a local East Asian grocery store, F Mart. As the lead designer, we surveyed people in the community on their favorite East Asian food/dishes through a printed flyer at F Mart and through social media. With the data collected, the mural design includes Easter eggs of the community's favorite East Asian foods and ingredients playfully interacting in the Lawrence landscape. The mural was painted by my sister, Juna Murao, and her great team.
